Union Hospital Foundation Golf Benefit to Provide $96,000 for Scholarship Fund

The Country Club of Terre Haute was the setting for the 22nd Annual Union Hospital Golf Benefit on Friday, June 5, 2009 as 152 golfers enjoyed perfect weather and fantastic course conditions to help Union Hospital Foundation earn $96,000 for its Scholarship Reserve Fund. The $96,000 in net proceeds was an all-time high for the outing and surpassed last year's total by $15,000.

In response to the success of the outing, Bill Grimes, Golf Benefit Chair stated, "We are most fortunate to have such a tremendously loyal and generous core of Union Hospital vendors, partners and supporters. They always step up when asked and Union Hospital Foundation is most grateful to our generous benefactors in the annual Golf Tournament."

"Simply put, it was a perfect day", stated Jim Bertoli, Executive Director of Union Hospital Foundation. Bertoli went on to say, "We couldn't be more pleased with how well the tournament went and we want to extend our sincere thanks to the sponsors, golfers, committee members and more than 40 volunteers who made this event possible and so successful. Our Golf Benefit Committee, Hospital Administration and the Foundation staff did an outstanding job of retaining past sponsors, finding new sponsors and reducing costs through valuable in-kind contributions. The end result was amazing!"

The mission of the Union Hospital Foundation is to support advances in medical care that benefit the patients served by Union Hospital and initiatives that promote the health and wellness for those residents who live in the Wabash Valley. The Foundation fulfills this mission by raising charitable gifts and grants, providing effective stewardship for gifts received and by awarding grants to Union Hospital and to select other organizations through which improvements in medical care and community health are realized.
