Addressing Social Needs of the Wabash Valley
Union Health Foundation, United Way of the Wabash Valley, and the Wabash Valley Community Foundation are partnering with Terre Haute Police Department to launch an innovative pilot program incorporating an embedded social worker into the department.
The program aims to reduce the number of repeat calls and welfare checks the department receives while connecting individuals in need with services in the community. The public-private partnership involving all four entities funds the program for three years.
We had a record-breaking turn out and raised the largest amount ever during this year’s Employee Giving Campaign! Thank you to our 794 employee donors for giving a total of $127,601.83!
Even though the official campaign is over, you can still give! Click the button below for more information.
Thanks to generous donations from the community, Union Health Foundation awarded $2,384,392.45 to improve health and wellness in the Wabash Valley in 2022.
In February 2022, Union Health Foundation launched an innovative program to help improve the living environments of Wabash Valley families, thanks to a recent federal grant.
The Foundation was awarded a $46,362 grant by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to create the Healthy Homes Initiative. Through a collaborative effort with the Lugar Center for Rural Health and other community partners, this program will expand the existing services provided by the All Babies Initiative, founded in 2016 to address the community’s high infant mortality rate.
For the past two years, Ravyn and Alec Enstrom have organized a softball tournament to raise money for Union Health Foundation’s Bereavement Services Fund. The tournament, “Batting for Barrett” is in honor of their son Barrett Richard Antone Enstrom who was stillborn on December 7, 2018.
At the end of the day, Union Health is about people. Learn about people whose lives have been changed by the experiences at Union, both patients and volunteers.
